Our power went out on Sunday at 7 p.m. on March 1st. I guess March does come in like a "LION".
Eight inches of SNOW.. We weren't really thinking that we would get that much snow. The top picture are the Easter Lilies that were just coming up, and now hidden by all the snow. Isn't it just great how the snow plow driver missed all the snow in front of our mail boxes! We didn't get any mail delivery on Monday. I thought the post offices' motto is: "We deliver in rain, snow, sleet, and hail" but I guess they don't.
The one picture has a tree cracked right over the "End State Maintenance" sign. I wonder if we push it over to the "State Maintenance" side, that they will take care of it. LOL
At least we were able to get to Todd and Kim's on Wednesday and take showers. Then, we went to Walmart to get some drinking water and some snacks, apples, and hot dogs to cook in the wood burner. We ate lunch at Burger King and then went to Ruby Tuesdays for supper. The meal there wasn't that great, but it was FOOD.
The pine trees down here just bent over with the ice. We had three inches of rain on Sunday afternoon, then it froze, then the snow came. I hope that most of the trees that bent over and were touching the ground will stand back up again. There were quite a few trees that Charlie had to use the chain saw on, so we could get our car out of our road.
We got our power back on at 11 a.m. on March 5th. We were so glad to have lights, water, heat, and were able to get food in the house to eat. I had cleaned out both freezers and refrigerators, and threw all the food away. We were very lucky that there wasn't much in either freezer or the refrigerators.
We are hoping that we won't have any more snow storms this winter. We are too used to the modern conveniences to be without them for such a long time.
WE ARE WAITING FOR SPRING TO GET HERE VERY SOON.

Kentucky still beats you for length of time without electricity! Try over 100 hours!
