The tree at Nichole's party

This was the highlight of Nichole's 9th. birthday party! It was really windy that day and just as the girls were finishing up their pizza, a tree right out in front blew over and fell across highway 15, the main route. The kids all ran outside to the porch and couldn't believe it. Their neighbor had a chain saw and someone else in the neighborhood had one, and they started to cut up the branches to remove it from the road. Some of the people in the cars, that were waiting to get through this road block, got out and helped to drag the branches to the side of the road. There must have been at least 25 or more cars on each side of the highway, waiting to get back on their way. Finally, the tree was removed from the road and the drivers could continue on their way. The girls waved to the drivers as they went by, sort of like a parade that they were watching. They all thought that was the best party they have ever been to.
When Kim comes over with her "memory stick" from Nichole's party, I will blog some more. I had forgotten to take the camera with me to the party, but Kim had her camera and she got lots of pictures. We had gone over the next day on our way to town, and stopped to get some pictures of the big "root ball". The big tree had knocked down several other trees on the way down. Now, Todd will have some work to do to get the "root ball" out of his front yard.
